Creatively what this means for me is that I am taking more chances with my work: Embracing the provocative concept. Writing that difficult scene. Using more intimate, sensual language. Sharing my stories with friends and strangers alike.
Someone else was bound to strike the same sparks that made this story smolder for me and fan them into flames.
Now I must ask: Why would I limit the reach of my writing that way? And further: Why accept any gendered classification of my work?
